History

When in 2002 several moms decided to organize a holiday concert with their children, nobody could even imagine that the initiative would become such a successful and long lasting project. Our charismatic leader Alla with her enthusiasm and energy created this studio where our children can express themselves while practicing Russian and learning Russian classics.

Since the first little scene called "Academic Ivanov," we have produced numerous performances. Most of our plays are shown at UCSD School of Medicine, in Garren Auditorium of the Basic Science Building. Our supporter, UCSD European Staff Association, helps us in many ways including providing space for our concerts and rehearsals and sponsoring our equipment.

We show our performances to our relatives and friends. Several times we have been inbited to the Clairmont Villa Adult Day Health Center to show our plays to senior Russians and our performances had a big success.

In general, our creations become more and more professional with the decorations and costumes being made by our talented kids and parents. We hope that this experience will help the children to be creative and successful and will enrich their school, college, and adult life.
